Renelle White Buffalo x Chop Siouxy Capsule Collection

Renelle White Buffalo is a Native American artist whose work is recognized nationally as well as in Canada. Influenced by her culture, her upbringing, as well as being Native American in Los Angeles, White Buffalo creates multimedia paintings made with found wood, canvas, acrylic, and collage materials.

Growing up in the country on a South Dakota reservation as a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, White Buffalo was raised primarily by her Grandparents. She remembers having pickle eating parties while creating paper dolls and embroidering with her Grandma and playing cards daily with her Grandpa. After graduating high school with a class of around 20, White Buffalo attended Northern State University until she transferred and completed her degree at Iowa State University in Integrated Studio Arts with an emphasis in drawing.

White Buffalo then “roamed” to sunny Los Angeles, CA with two suitcases, in pursuit of a successful art career and no snow of course. After one year of just exploring and working, she decided that it was time to quit her 9-5 and obligate herself to art full time. Giving herself a break on commissions, White Buffalo painted just whatever she wanted for herself... creating the first buffalo. It was the best decision of her life, and thus launched the buffalo as a series, continuing with head dresses, spiders, and other Native elements.

"Renelle is extremely talented and an inspiration! I'm proud of my Cousin and can't wait to collaborate with her again soon"
